Event Description
Register Online by November
19 or at the Door Tuesday.
Beverages will be provided.
Don't forget your bag lunch!
This
month’s brown bag session will be an open discussion of how technology plays a
role at the hearing level. The good, the bad, and the future. If you did not get
enough from last month’s October Tech month, now is your chance for
more.
Some sub-issues for thought
include:
1. SS hearings being conducted by
video conference at the attorney's office so attorney and claimant do not need
to go to ODAR for a hearing;
2. Last minute, unannounced changes by SSA
from an in-person hearing to a video conference;
3. The debate between
electing video conference hearings (because you get a hearing faster) vs.
objecting to video conference hearings for the perceived advantages of an
in-person hearing (and whether those perceived advantages are really that
helpful);
4. Experiences of attorney-reps who use technology in unique
ways or to prep for and attend hearings (e.g. iPads at hearings).
Join the Social Security Disability Law
Section for a brown bag lunch to discuss various practice-related topics.
