Remote Legal Research

Event Description

Deadline to Register: October 31, 2017

In the world of online legal research, we often think only of premium services like Westlaw, Lexis, and Bloomberg. In this workshop, we’ll tour the broader landscape of valuable online legal research tools. We’ll explore strategies for cost-effectively performing a range of research tasks. In addition to navigating primary sources, we’ll take a look at forms, sample documents, business and industry information, news, visualizations, intellectual property tools and more.

Plus, bring your legal research challenges. We’ll save some time for processing difficult queries. If you wish, email the presenter ahead of time with your most demanding legal research questions: mcarlson@mnbar.org .

About the Presenter: Mike served 10 years at Thomson Reuters as a Reference Staff Attorney where he performed legal research, analyzed feedback, and provided trainings. Mike now serves the online services team at the Minnesota State Bar Association.
