For the longest time, the working title for this presentation was “Law Office
in a Box.” We thought about providing material that would give
step-by-step guidance in how to open up a law practice...to hang out your
shingle, as is were. But, there is many a seminar from Minnesota CLE that
tell you how to do that. At its most basic, the profession of practicing
law only takes a license, a laptop computer and printer/scanner a telephone, an
address from which to send and receive mail and confidence that you will
generate enough business to live comfortably. It costs about $6,000 to get
started. Since the practice of law is both a profession and a business,
the next logical step after hanging out your shingle is to score your solo
practice and benchmark it against your own experience and the experience of your
peers, and this CLE talks about measurement tools to facilitate that.
* In addition to earning 1 CLE at this session, attendees will
have a chance to win the new 2014 QuickBooks Pro Software package. Don't
forget to bring your business card for the drawing bowl! Must be present or on
the phone to win *
