The Nexus of EV Adoption and Utility Policy in Minnesota:
2017 is shaping up to be an exciting year for the Electric Vehicle sector.
Tesla, General Motors, and Nissan are all planning
the release of “mass market” electric vehicles with higher range
at a reasonable price point. Nearly $5 billion nationally
may be available for EV marketing and charging infrastructure through the Volkswagon settlement.
This technology offers the promise of decarbonizing the transportation system while providing a potentially flexible
load growth opportunity for utilities that could be targeted to
off-peak periods and help to integrate higher levels of renewable electricity.
Speakers from Xcel Energy, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, and Drive
Electric MN will discuss the latest trends and what it means for
utility policy in our state.
Please
join us for lunch beginning at Noon, followed by the program from 12:30 – 1:30
p.m.
Box
lunch will be provided. Special
meal requests need to be received no later than Monday, October 17.
