Deadline to Register: April 6, 2016
This one hour CLE will examine the pros and cons, challenges
and opportunities and considerations to be made when managing or working in a
multi office practice. The three presenters will offer three different
perspectives on multi office practice – multiple fully staffed offices, multiple
partially staffed satellite offices and office share/work from home
practice.
Registration and lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m.
The program will begin at Noon.
Following the CLE, the Outstate Practice Section invites
attendees and students to stay to learn more about the Section and get to know
each other.
Presenters:
Carol M.
Hanks,
Patton, Hoversten & Berg, P.A., Waseca, MN. Carol
graduated from Minnesota State University in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in
business management and from William Mitchell College of Law in 2006. Carol is a
shareholder with Patton, Hoversten & Berg, P.A., a general practice firm
with office is Waseca, Owatonna, Janesville, and Faribault, MN. Carol’s primary
areas of practice include all areas of family law, estate planning, probate and
trust administration. The firm has ten attorneys throughout its four office that
practice in the areas of civil litigation, business law, employment law,
personal injury, criminal law, child protection/juvenile law, bankruptcy, and
real estate.
Joseph Krueger,
Brown & Krueger, P.A., Long Prairie, MN.
Joe graduated from Creighton University in 2000 with an Accounting degree
and Creighton School of Law in 2003 with an emphasis in business, commercial and
tax transactions. After practicing in the Twin Cities for a couple of years, Joe
moved outstate and joined the firm of Brown & Krueger, PA in Long Prairie,
MN in 2005. Since joining the firm, they have opened offices in Little
Falls and Walker, MN. Joe’s firm practices in the areas of real estate,
estate planning, business law, municipal law and litigation, both general and
personal injury.
Dennis
O'Toole, Lano, O’Toole &
Bengtson, Ltd., Grand Rapids, MN. Dennis is a native of North
Dakota, holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and earned his law
degree from the University of North Dakota. He worked for a consulting
engineering firm and for a major computer manufacturer prior to attending law
school. Starting his career focusing on trial work, with a concentration in
business litigation, Dennis now primarily practices in business organizations
and transactions, including the start-up, purchase and sale of businesses,
commercial real estate transactions, real estate taxation issues and business
& estate planning. Dennis has increasingly been called upon in recent years
to give seminar presentations to other lawyers, primarily relating to business
law and rural practice issues. He recently served as Chair of the Outstate
Practice Subcommittee of the Minnesota State Bar Association Challenges to the
Practice of Law Task Force, whose recommendations were adopted by the MSBA to
respond to a rapidly changing legal landscape. As part of his own professional transition, Dennis and his
law firm have recently put in place innovative client-focused practice concepts.
