We continue our annual tradition of
holding the spring Tax Law Section meeting at
the Minnesota Tax Court in St. Paul. The Minnesota
Tax Court Judges will discuss the types of cases the Court has been seeing over the last 12 months and offer practice tips. Please join us for an informative visit with the Minnesota Tax Court Judges.

Chief Judge Joanne Turner | Minnesota Tax Court
Chief Judge
Turner has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from The Ohio State University and
a Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Minnesota. She taught
accounting and taxation at the University of Minnesota, at Ohio State, and at
the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York, for more than a
dozen years before earning her J.D. with honors from the University of Michigan
in 1992. From 1993 to 2005, she was a commercial litigator at Mackall,
Crounse & Moore in Minneapolis, where she was a partner and served on the
firm’s Board of Governors. In 2005, Judge Turner became counsel to the
Minnesota Supreme Court, specializing in review of tax court appeals among other
things, and where she served until her appointment to the Tax Court in December
2012.
