Immigration Relief for Vulnerable Populations: Cross-Practice Issues

Sheila Stuhlman of the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota will provide an overview of immigration issues that can affect our family law clients. Topics will include affidavits of support, VAWA, U visas, T visas, SIJS, removal of conditions on permanent residency, and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.

The Family Law Section membership will meet prior to the CLE at 9:30 a.m. 

Presenter:

Sheila Stuhlman is the Program Director at the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota, providing supervision to staff attorneys and interns, as well as technical assistance, outreach, training and representation in immigration matters.  She represents clients in front of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Executive Office for Immigration Review. She served as the Immigration Consultant for the Minnesota State Board of Public Defense for 4 ½ years and oversees that project. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild. Sheila is a 2000 graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School and admitted to practice before Minnesota state and federal courts, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.
