The MSBA's New Lawyers Section Presents
"Alternative Dispute Resolution Tool Bag: What Every Lawyer Needs to Know about Alternatives to Litigation" & Annual Meeting
This free CLE will provide an introduction to ADR Rule 114 and will address the benefits and potential disadvantages of “classis” mediation, evaluative mediation, early neutral evaluation, moderated settlement proceedings and arbitration. As the burdens, risks and expenses of traditional litigation become ever more prohibitive, lawyers must be knowledgeable and competent to advise clients on the available ADR options. Mr. Stokes is a Qualified Rule 114 Neutral and has substantial experience providing mediation services, as a neutral evaluator and in representing clients in arbitration proceedings and served as the Co-Chair for the Washington County Family Court Early Neutral Evaluation Program.
