The MSBA's Labor & Employment Law Section Presents

"Report from Today's Controversial NLRB"

The Board continues to make news because of ongoing controversy about recess appointments, about its view of concerted protected activity, as well as other decisions expanding employee rights. Among the topics discussed in this presentation will be the Noel Canning decision, sequestration, Board decisions expanding the concept of concerted protected activity in the workplace (whether union or non-union), the employer's duty to turn over witness statements, and any other current topics, as well as the Region's refusal to defer charges alleging employer retaliation against employees where the evidence establishes a prima facie case that the retaliation is because of the employees' role in attempting to enforce contractual provisions as union stewards.
