The MSBA's Health Law Section Presents

Responding to the Next Pandemic
or Serious Public Health Threat in MN

With flu season upon us and the national fungal meningitis outbreak, now is the time to inform yourself and your clients of how the Minnesota Department of Health prepares for and addresses such public health concerns. Please join your Health Law Section colleagues for a presentation by Arden Fritz, Legal Affairs Coordinator, and Brad Krier, Epidemiology Field Services, from MDH. The first half of the morning will focus on a discussion of the plans that are currently in place to deal with the next pandemic or other serious public health threat. The last half will center on Minnesota and Federal laws that give MDH the flexibility needed to adequately respond to such threats.

Please note the special day for this program, Tuesday, October 30 (not occurring on the third Friday of the month as is typical of the section). This is to accommodate those with children off from school on October 19, due to the Education Minnesota Professional Conference. Our next program will be on the MN Exchange, on Friday, November 16, from 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. at Town and Country. Please hold the date. Meeting notice is forthcoming.
