The MSBA's Health Law Section Presents

Mock US Supreme Court Oral Arguments on the Constitutionality of the Individual Mandate

In late March the US Supreme Court will hear oral arguments concerning the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act that will span six hours over three days. The briefs and orders are now posted on the Docket page of the court’s website.

Please join your Health Law Section colleagues for a truly unique program featuring mock oral arguments concerning one of the focal issues facing the Supreme Court: the constitutionality of the individual mandate. The Health Law Section is very pleased to welcome Diane Bratvold and Eric Magnuson, two highly regarded appellate specialists, each of whom will argue one side of the question of whether the individual mandate is constitutional. Following the arguments, Heidi Kitrosser, Professor of Law, will provide a scholarly summary of the issue and a review of the arguments. The program will conclude with an audience Q&A session with the presenters.

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to see a live account of how the constitutionality of the individual mandate may be addressed and gain insight from knowledgeable experts on what will surely be one of the most impactful Supreme Court decisions in years.
