The MSBA's Family Law Section Presents
"Child Sexual Abuse and Family Law Cases"
This presentation will feature an overview of how children respond to the trauma of sexual abuse, including its impact on child health (physical and mental) as well as its relationship to brain development. We will also discuss offender grooming tactics. We will look at how these issues play out in family law cases and what kinds of information system professionals (attorneys, guardians ad litem, sexual assault advocates, etc) can use to best respond to support the child and the family.
