The MSBA's Family Law Section Presents
"Can I Keep the Home? An update to the mortgage guidelines and strategies divorcing couples should know."
This program will identify specific mortgage guidelines divorcing couples face when refinancing or purchasing another home. We will discuss strategies and solutions clients can build into the decree to make it easier on themselves. Specific topics include: child support and spousal maintenance income, tips for addressing the marital home in the decree, marital liens and property settlements, timelines, alternative finance options and mortgage fraud.
Mitch Irwin , Bell Mortgage
Mitch Irwin is a loan officer with Bell Mortgage. He has been in the mortgage industry for 10 years. He helps divorce attorneys, mediators and their clients address housing and mortgage issues while the divorce is in process. His goal is to communicate the lending guidelines to be aware of and determine if one party can afford to keep the home, will the vacating spouse be able to buy a home, and what language needs to be in the decree, so the parties can achieve their individual goals. Personally, Mitch lives in Hastings with his wife and 2 young boys. For more information see: www.mitchirwin.biz.
