The MSBA's Family Law Section Presents
"Minnesota Criminal Expungements: Current Law, Updates, and Alternatives"
This CLE will cover the basics of Minnesota criminal expungement law. Participants will learn about statutory and inherent authority expungements, as well as significant recent appellate decisions. Because many criminal records are not able to be expunged, the CLE will offer an overview of alternative ways to assist clients with criminal records, such as pardons and administrative remedies.
Lindsay Davis is an attorney in private practice in Saint Paul. Prior to opening her own practice, Ms. Davis was a staff attorney in the government benefits unit at Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services, Inc., where she specialized in criminal expungements and other reentry issues. Ms. Davis is an adjunct professor in the Health Law Institute at Hamline University School of Law, where she teaches a clinic about DHS licensing cases.
