Section Membership
As of June 22, 2011, the Employee Benefits Section has 226 members. This number is consistent with the membership at the beginning of the fiscal year.
Financial Status
The Employee Benefits Section had an account balance of $14,244.97 as of May 31, 2011.
Continuing Legal Education Programs and Social Events
The Section hosted one CLE program in fiscal year 2010-11. In addition to this noon hour program, the Section co-sponsored the annual Employee Benefits Workshop with Minnesota CLE.

Legislation and Amicus Briefs
The Section did not submit any legislative proposals or amicus briefs in the 2010 – 11 term.
Annual Meeting and Election Results
The Employee Benefits Section annual meeting and elections were held in conjunction with a noon hour CLE on May 16, 2011, at the Marquette Hotel in Minneapolis, MN. The CLE and meeting were well attended with 41 participants.
The following individuals were elected to serve as officers in 2011-12:

Vice Chair: Wendy Bunnell, Medica
Secretary: Timothy Zellmer, General Mills, Inc.
Treasurer: Pam Thein, Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly, LLP
In addition to the offices, the following individuals were elected to serve on the Employee Benefits Council from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2011:

Other Section Accomplishments:
- The Section continues to work to improve its annual Workshop, with the goal of providing a forum for Section members to meet and hear from government regulators and national experts in discrete subject areas in the employee benefits field.
- The Council met and discussed partnering with the Upper Midwest Pension Rights Project, a nonprofit organization funded primarily by the Administration on Aging that provides pension counseling and other services to the public, with the goal of providing an outlet for Section members to pursue pro bono opportunities within their area of expertise.
