The MSBA's Computer and Technology Law Section Presents
"Corporate and Individual Liabilities of Releasing Vulnerable Code"
This roundtable discussion will foster discussion about the risks, liabilities, and consequences that corporations and individuals may assume by releasing software that is vulnerable to hacking, data leakage, and security breaches. The discussion will explore contract, tort, and regulatory compliance issues, including software as a "product" under strict products liability, the extent of the duty of reasonable care, and the extent to which software vendors should be liable for the foreseeable exploitation of their code in the furtherance of cybercrime.
