The MSBA's Communications Law Section Presents
"The Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act of 2010"
In October 2010, President Obama signed the Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act of 2010, which takes pre-existing requirements meant to make communications accessible to persons with disabilities, such as closed captioning and hearing-aid compatibility requirements for telephones, and updates them to apply to more recently developed communications technologies, such as smartphones and Internet videos. This presentation will describe the Act's key provisions and explain how they will affect both communications providers and use of communications technologies by persons with disabilities.
