The MSBA Bankruptcy Section launched a new mentoring program in the fall of 2010. The Bankruptcy Section's Mentoring Program aims to pair attorneys newer to the practice of bankruptcy with an attorney more experienced in bankruptcy. The participants will receive an e-mail with a list of pairings and contact information for his or her match on a monthly or bi-monthly basis. The pairings will change in each email so that the participants are able to meet different practitioners with a variety of experiences and to allow each participant the opportunity to build the relationships that he or she finds the most personally rewarding.
The aim of this program is to help pass along the best practices through the development of ongoing relationships between the experienced bankruptcy bar and all of those newer to the ranks. There is no ongoing requirement of participants beyond the willingness to periodically meet with a new mentor or mentee for coffee, lunch, drinks or whatever else works best for the pair. Suggestions, tips, and advice about the program for both mentors and mentees are set forth in the Mentor Guidelines and Mentee Guidelines that can be found on this website. Also posted on this website are the Tips for Following-up After the First Meeting. New participants are always welcome and you may sign-up for this program as either a mentor or mentee by completing the Registration Form and returning it to Tram Nguyen at email@example.com.
