Lawyers as Entrepreneurs

Event Description

Deadline to Register Online: September 30, 2016

Lawyers as Entrepreneurs:

In one of my favorite lines from the television series, The Good Wife, entrepreneur Neil Gross exclaims that the law offices of Lockhart and Gardner are "where creativity goes to die." The subtext, if not explicit message, of this statement is that lawyers and entrepreneurs are not made of the same stuff. This may have been true historically. It may even be substantively true today but most lawyers can no longer afford to deny, ignore, or otherwise repress their entrepreneurial inclinations (no matter how embryonic). This presentation will discuss the entrepreneurial activities and career paths of a variety of lawyers, some well-known, some less so with an aim toward inspiring the audience to identify and magnify their own entrepreneurial instincts.
