New Resources on practicelaw.org

Continuing to expand and upgrade resources on practicelaw.org, the MSBA in recent months has added resources in areas of probate & trust and labor & employment law.

A full “core” set of probate forms is now available for download and use in formal and informal probate matters. The newly drafted and peer-reviewed forms include applications, notices, affidavits of service, orders and additional estate administration forms required for many typical probate matters. Forty forms are now available in fully editable Microsoft Word format at practicelaw.org. The forms are also part of the MNdocs document assembly system for probate, which was scheduled for release on February 4.

In addition to new probate forms, the probate area of practicelaw now offers:

  • Probate-related links for the probate and trust law practitioner, compiled by leading attorneys in the field;
  • Federal taxation committee reports, updated frequently, that discuss and analyze federal legislation and IRS rules that impact the practice of estate planning.

Changes in the labor & employment area include:

  • Electronic copies of Labor & Employment Law News, including hotlinks to cited cases and materials;
  • Electronic copies of Minnesota and federal labor or employment court cases collected by MSBA’s CourtOps service over the last 90 days and continuously updated;
  • Links to all of the major federal and Minnesota labor or employment statutes, including links to agency web pages containing more information about each statute;
  • Links to websites of courts and administrative agencies, sites with labor and employment educational materials, and labor or employment blogs;
  • Links to labor- or employment-related feature articles that have appeared in Bench & Bar, as well as to the “Employment & Labor Law” section of the monthly Notes & Trends column.
  • Agency form documents, as well as links to agency web pages relating to charge filing and other procedures.
