New Pro Bono Materials Online

Early in December of 2007 the MSBA and the Minnesota Legal Services Coalition launched a redesigned version of the pro bono website www.ProJusticeMN.org, featuring new content for practitioners as well as improved navigation and usability.

Content on the site is now organized into three "practice areas" -- Immigration Law, Family Law, and Civil Law (the last of which includes materials for several topics), all of which are available to volunteer lawyers, law students, and academics who register with the site.

The Civil Law practice area includes materials covering multiple areas of consumer law, housing materials covering issues relating to eviction and Fair Housing advocacy and enforcement, public benefits materials including coverage of MinnesotaCare and Medicare Part D, and Social Security/SSI materials including a caselaw index and selected case summaries.

The Family Law practice area, a new addition to the site, offers resources, notice of events and news for family law practitioners, organized in terms of stages in a typical family law case.

The Immigration Law practice area was launched in the spring of 2007 and offers resources, notice of CLEs, and news relevant to the needs of practitioners addressing issues concerning clients who are not United States citizens.

Any member who registers with the ProJusticeMN.org site can add library resources, calendar events, and news items to the site and members are encouraged to use the site in this way for networking and information sharing.  For help with this or other aspects of the website, email the site administrators at statesupport@mnlegalservices.org.
