MSBA Remembers Former MSBA President Mike Ford

The Minnesota legal profession lost an outstanding leader this last Sunday with the death of Mike Ford. Mike was President of the MSBA during the 2008-09 bar year. Mike was constantly contributing practice tips to Bench & Bar. He was active in the Outstate Practice Section and the Judiciary Committee. He developed the three-legged stool analogy for justice system funding. We all know that stories make learning more interesting and memorable and no one excelled at storytelling more than Mike. Often his stories involved his stint in the military. Mike cared about people in general, no matter their status or position. He was not afraid to challenge the status quo or ask tough questions. However, he always did so in the most genial way, as a seeker of information and as a way to forge something better. He was humble, quick to give credit to others.
