I can’t edit my online dues invoice
You may have reached a check out page using the My Account link from our main website. Unfortunately, you cannot edit your dues through the My Account link.
Click on the Renew Membership link on the My Account page and you will be directed to your editable Dues invoice page
I do not want to pay my dues online, how can I get a paper invoice?
We are trying to save costs by moving as many members to online payment as possible.
If you need a paper invoice, we will be mailing paper invoices to remaining unpaid members in mid-June.
Why won’t the billing website open on my computer?
Are you using Internet Explorer? Try using another browser. Our billing website utilizes Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox better than Internet Explorer.
How are my 2014-15 dues calculated?
Your dues depend on a number of components: member type (attorney or non-attorney), years of practice, location and potential qualification for a Special Dues Category. Member dues can be reduced if one is eligible for a Special Dues Category. Special Dues Categories (with the exception of Emeritus or Retired), need to be requested each year.

How do I change my dues category (e.g., recently retired)?
After clicking “renew my membership,” click “edit” in the MSBA Dues bar. This will open a new window that allows you to choose a different member category.
How do I change my district bar association?
After clicking “renew my membership,” click “edit” in the District Dues bar. This will open a new window that allows you to choose a different local bar district.
How do I add or opt out of section membership?
After clicking “renew my membership,” click “edit” in the Optional Section Dues bar. This will open a new window that allows you to choose specific sections.
How do I change or opt out of optional foundation/legislative fund contributions?
After clicking “renew my membership,” click “edit” in the Optional Contributions bar. This will open a new window that allows you to change or opt out of foundation/legislative fund contributions.
What is the most convenient way to pay?
Paying online with a credit card is fast and secure. We accept American Express, Discover, Master Card and Visa.
Can I give you my card information over the phone, by fax, or by email?
For security reasons, membership fee payments are not accepted via fax or email. Fee payments by credit or debit card may be made over the phone by calling (612) 333-1183 or (800) 882-6722.
What portion of my member dues are tax deductible?
Membership dues are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions for income tax purposes. However, they may be tax-deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses subject to restrictions imposed as a result of Association lobbying activities. The nondeductible portion of your MSBA 2014-15 dues – the portion which is allocated to lobbying – is 3% plus any contribution to the Legislative Fund.
How can I get a receipt for my purchase?
By paying your dues online, you will automatically receive an email receipt.
