MSBA Probate and Trust Section Mentoring Program

The Probate and Trust section is launching a mentoring program, starting March 1, 2017.  The purpose of the Probate and Trust Mentoring Program is to improve and maintain the competence, professionalism, and success of new Probate and Trust attorneys. We define new Probate and Trust attorneys as those who have five years or less of practice in Probate and Trust law.  This program will match new Probate and Trust attorneys with more experienced Probate and Trust attorneys, who are willing to impart their Probate and Trust knowledge to foster the professional development of a new Probate and Trust attorney.

If you are an experienced Probate and Trust attorney, who is willing to make a one-year commitment to volunteer as a mentor, or if you are a new Probate and Trust attorney, who is seeking further insight and guidance within the practice area, please send an e-mail to Touch Thouk at touch.thouk@stinson.com by 5:00 p.m. on February 9, 2017, indicating your interest and/or experience in specific areas of Probate and Trust law, and  whether you are interested in  or have experience in solo practice, a small firm, mid-size firm, a large firm setting, or other setting.

Once we have received the e-mails, we will pair individuals and hold a kick-off event, TBD, in March 2017 so that mentees and mentors can initially meet.  After the kick-off event, we encourage those participating in the Probate and Trust Mentoring Program to meet on an ongoing basis.
