Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement

Introduction

The Employee Benefits Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) (the Section) understands that diversity and inclusion will increase its collective intelligence and influence inside and outside the MSBA and improve its long-term viability. Therefore, the Section seeks to increase its communications and educational programs to promote discourse and understanding of diversity in compensation and employee benefits and related taxation issues.

Principal Diversity and Inclusion Goal

The principal goal of the Section is to build awareness of certain diversity issues in compensation and employee benefits. For the year 2022/2023, the focus is on achieving equity in employee benefits by changing the systems and policies that have resulted in generational injustices that give rise to racial and ethnic disparities.
