About lawPAC

LawPAC is the political arm of the Minnesota State Bar Association. It is a nonpartisan entity governed by a volunteer board and it is funded through voluntary contributions. LawPAC:

• Provides financial support to candidates who demonstrate a commitment to issues important to the legal profession.
• Assists members of the Bar in organizing themselves for more effective political action.
• Seeks to improve state government by encouraging lawyers to take a more active and effective role in its affairs. With the state of Minnesota facing short-term and long-term budget problems, a sales tax on legal services and deep funding cuts to the justice system are major threats to the legal profession. Less than 15 percent of Minnesota legislators are attorneys, so it is critically important for lawyers to ensure that their voices are heard at the Capitol.
