Introduction Assembly Council Officers Positions & Policies

The MSBA is seeking candidates for the position of MSBA Secretary from the outstate area (affiliated district bar associations other than the Ramsey County Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association).  Every fourth year, the nominee comes from the outstate area.  The nominee is selected by the representatives on the MSBA Assembly representing the outstate affiliated district bar associations.

The Nominating Committee met recently and changed the deadlines for submitting applications.  The new deadline requires everyone interested in seeking the nomination to submit a Qualifications  & Interest Statement on or before Friday, May 17.  You may obtain a Qualifications and Interest statement by contacting Joni Fenner at jfenner@mnbar.orgor a fillable pdf is available online at:  http://www.mnbar.org/governance/CommonFiles/qualint.pdf

We encourage you to apply, or if you know of someone who should apply, to encourage that person to apply.  The position requires a four year commitment.  In the fourth year, the nominee will serve as the President of the MSBA.  That position requires a substantial commitment of time, but the professional and personal rewards are commensurate with the commitment.  For more information on the position contact the current president, Robert Enger of Bemidji (bobenger@LSNMLaw.org), who has agreed to talk with any interested candidate.

The MSBA is committed to the principles of diversity and encourages the participation and representation in its leadership of the many diverse groups that the MSBA serves.

Thank you.

Katie Trotzky, Chair - Nominating Committee
