FAQ
When will the MSBA host the day-long CLE in my area?
We will host a one-day CLE in each of the 8 outstate judicial districts so we are sure to be somewhere near you. Check the calendar to learn what day.
What is the cost?
The daily registration fee in 2013 will remain the same -- $30 ($50 for non-MSBA members) in the eight outstate districts. Day 9 registration is $40 ($80 for non-MSBA members) or $85 for CLE and the Presidents' Reception.
That includes CLE credits, a continental breakfast, lunch and breaks.
How many credits will I get?
Approximately 6 CLE credits. Check the individual web pages for details.
Are Ethics or Elimination of Bias credits offered?
Both Ethics and EOB credits are offered at Day 9.
May I attend more than one day? Will the programs/credits be the same?
You may attend more than one day. The CLE programming for each district was designed based on input from MSBA members practicing in that district so each will be different (although there may be some overlap). Check out the scheduled programs detailed on the website.
Why change the ‘old’ Convention?
After reviewing data on recent statewide MSBA Conventions and highly successful Bench/Bar Conferences, the MSBA Assembly voted to merge them to create a new convention format that will reach many more members. In 2011, 1,327 lawyers participated in Nine Days in June compared to 225 at the 'old' convention in 2009.
How do I get there?
Links to venue information are provided on the individual district web pages.
Is there free parking?
Yes, free parking will be available for nearly all venues in 2013.
Is there internet access at the location?
Most of the venues will have internet access. If you have a specific need, please check with the MSBA staff.
Cancellation Policy: Refunds will be processed for cancellations received 72 hours prior to the CLE and are subject to a $5.00 processing fee. Requests should be directed to Molly Malone at mmalone@mnbar.org. Cancellation requests received after this time are not eligible for refunds. You may send a colleague in your place if you are unable to attend and the deadline has passed.
CLE Handout Materials will be posted on the website approximately ten days prior to each judicial district's meeting. Hardcopies of handouts will not be available on site. If you would like to have materials at the CLE sessions, please bring them with you.
Teleconference or Webcast participation will not be available. |
