"Time Management for Lawyers"

Does it seem like there are never enough hours in the day to do everything you know you must complete before your head hits the pillow? And when you do fall into bed, are you kept awake thinking of all of the things you didn't get done today and all of the things that you need to add to that "to-do" list tomorrow? You know you aren't taking care of your clients and yourself at the level you would like to, but you don't know how to do more with the same number of hours.

Call it Time Management; call it Task Management; call it Life Management -- however you slice it, most of us are trying to cram 36 hours of tasks, activities, commitments, and deadlines into 24 hours, and it's not going so well.

Especially at this time of year, with the added scheduling strain of holiday commitments at work, at home, with family, etc., it's critical to take some time and learn a few new skills for not only surviving, but thriving -- despite your overbooked calendar.

At this CLE, we will cover substantive strategies and tools for getting more done in less time, keeping your head above water with a little more grace and composure, and, generally, enjoying not only this busy time of year, but your day-to-day work and life a lot more, all while cranking through that to-do list in record time.

With better time management, you can serve your clients better, develop your career faster, maintain your mental and emotional health, and simply get more done -- which makes everyone feel good.

The substantive material will be taught by Kendra Brodin, MSW, JD, a consultant and coach on career and life satisfaction and the professional development of attorneys. She is Founder of Women Lawyers Online, an online membership resource center for women attorneys, and she publishes the weekly "Happy In Law" newsletter.

Joining her for a panel discussion are:

Cynthia Lee of Faegre & Benson LLP
Gloria Stamps-Smith of the Hennepin County Attorney's Office
Barbara Wood of Lindquist & Vennum PLLP

These women represent a variety of backgrounds, practice areas, and life experiences, from which they will draw to answer questions posed both by the moderator and the attendees. You won't want to miss this relevant and enjoyable CLE -- one that will provide you with tools to increase your effectiveness in your practice, your ability to serve your clients, and your overall peace of mind.
