John Carney, Esq. John Carney is Chief Technology
Officer and a practicing digital forensic examiner at Carney Forensics, where he
has been data mining mobile devices for electronic evidence for the past seven
years as an expert witness. He has a 30-year software engineering and
information technology career. He was educated at the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology (MIT) Media Lab where he studied computer science, computer graphics
and software engineering and earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He is a
Minnesota attorney licensed in federal and state court. He was educated at
Hamline University School of Law where he earned a Juris Doctor degree and
Certificate in Dispute Resolution. Mr. Carney is a faculty adviser for Century
College’s Cybersecurity, Virtualization, and Forensics program and is an
associate member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. He holds an ACE
certification in computer forensics and Cellebrite certifications in mobile
device forensics.
