The Lacey Act: A Civil and Criminal Enforcement Regime Governing the Trade in Plant and Animal Products

Deadline to Register: December 7, 2015 

This CLE will discuss the Lacey Act, a federal statute that provides civil and criminal penalties for unlawful activities involving animals or plants or products made from animals or plants.  Subject matter will include the history of the statute, its structure, its interpretation, its enforcement practical implications, avoiding potential exposure to liability under the Lacey Act, defenses against Lacey Act liability, and examples of cases involving the Lacey Act.

The CLE is being co-sponsored by the International Business Law Section and the Animal Law Section.
