Deadline to Register: Friday, December 4,

As the population
across the United States ages, mediations will increasingly include elders
and issues of capacity will need to be considered. In
this session, elder mediator Lori Surma-Heine, will discuss the underpinnings of legal
capacity including dementia, mental health problems and chemical dependency. She also will discuss ethical issues
which arise and suggest best practices for including the elderly in
mediation.
A brief section business meeting will be
held at Noon followed immediately by the CLE presentation from 12:15-1:15
p.m.
Lunch is not provided but please feel free to bring your own! Soft drinks and bottled
water will be provided.
