Public employers and employees face unique challenges in
dealing with social media use in the workplace. Two public sector
attorneys
with
experience in educating and advising public entities on
social media issues will present on the current legal landscape and offer practical tips. Topics covered include government owned social media resources as
effective information sharing/communications tools, implementing and enforcing policies for employee social media use, and understanding the evolving law of free speech and data ownership rights.

Quinn
O'Reilly
Quinn O’Reilly is a Staff Attorney with the Research
Department at the League of Minnesota Cities. Prior to joining the League, Quinn
served as a law clerk for Judge Robert J. Raupp of the Benton County District
Court. Quinn received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of
Minnesota and his law degree from
William
Mitchell College of Law.
Andrew
Jackola
Andrew Jackola has served for the past three years as an
assistant county attorney in the Civil Division of the Anoka County Attorney’s
Office. Prior to joining the County Attorney’s Office, Andrew was in
private practice with a firm in Minneapolis and then maintained a solo practice
focused on employment law and civil litigation. Over the past 12 years,
Andrew has litigated a wide range of employment and civil rights cases in state
and federal court, and he has argued a number of cases before the Minnesota
Court of Appeals and the Eighth Circuit.
