Learn about State v. Lindquist, 869 N.W.2d 863 (Minn.
2015), where the Minnesota Supreme Court adopted a good-faith exception to the
exclusionary rule in the limited situation when law enforcement officers are
relying on case law precedent. Get a primer on the Minnesota Supreme Court’s
prior treatment of the good-faith exception and an inside view of Lindquist from
the attorneys who briefed and argued it. An engaging panel discussion follows,
where former Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice Eric Magnuson and former
Associate Justices Paul Anderson and Helen Meyer discuss the Lindquist opinion,
including the three dissents, and the potential future – including possible
expansion – of the good-faith exception.
