Commissioner Cynthia L. Bauerly will discuss 2016 Minnesota
tax legislation and provide an update on Department of Revenue activities,
audits, enforcement actions, initiatives, personnel changes, and other items of
"Hot News" and interest to the tax community. Justice Stras will present
observations from the Minnesota Supreme Court bench. Chief Judge Turner
will discuss current issues affecting the Minnesota Tax Court. Michael
Goodwin will discuss recent Minnesota tax litigation. Blaine Holiday will
discuss IRS counsel issues. Professor Hickman will discuss developments in
federal administrative law as applied to tax. Maximilian
Mixon will discuss the IRS taxpayer advocacy service.
The Seminar will be followed
by a question and answer session and will conclude with a one-hour
cocktail party (hosted bar and complimentary hors d'oeuvres).
Notice of Annual Meeting:
The Tax Section will also hold its Annual Meeting at 2:00 p.m. to
elect officers and council members for 2016-2017, and to conduct other business as
needed. The Annual meeting will also be held at the DoubleTree Hotel (you
will be directed to a conference room when you arrive).
