New Opportunities for Planning and Administration under the Minnesota Trust Code

In this one-hour session, Michael Sampson, a member of the Uniform Trust Code drafting committee and Co-Chair of the Legislation Committee of the Probate & Trust Law Section, discusses four significant new provisions of the Minnesota Trust Code: Silent Trusts, Directed Trusts, Decanting, and Non-Judicial Settlement Agreements. The focus will is on how these provisions will affect our approach to drafting new documents and whether, and how, they can be implemented into existing trust arrangements. Michael will discuss the statutory provisions and will provide examples of how the provisions might work in practice.
