ERISA affects every
corner of the health care industry. Employers, insurers, third-party
administrators, providers and patients all interact, at one time or another,
with ERISA’s complex - and at times counterintuitive - requirements. These
rules and regulations are constantly in flux as a result of new regulatory
guidance and court decisions that can quickly and radically change the existing
landscape.
Speakers Andrew Holly (Dorsey & Whitney) and Monica
Kelley (Gray Plant Mooty) will give an overview of the newest health
care-related developments in ERISA, including updates
on:
• Disputes between health care providers and ERISA group health plans,
both at the administrative level and in litigation;
• New mental health
parity cases;
• Potential litigation arising out of the Affordable Care
Act (ACA);
• ACA regulatory guidance, with a focus on the impending
Cadillac tax; and
• Wellness plans, including EEOC guidance and the
Honeywell lawsuit.
This presentation is jointly
sponsored by the
MSBA’s Health Law and Employee Benefits Sections.
Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by the
program from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. Special meal requests need to be
received no later than Tuesday, October 20.
