Deadline to Register: May 13, 2015
It’s been almost a year since Governor Mark Dayton signed a
bipartisan medical cannabis law on May 29, 2014. Two manufacturers have
been registered by the Minnesota Department of Health, the patient registry
start date is June 1, and medical cannabis products should be available to
registered patients starting July 1. However, marijuana remains a Schedule
I controlled substance under federal law. We have put together an exceptional
panel of speakers to talk about the implementation of the Minnesota medical
cannabis law over the past year, as well as some of the primary legal issues of
interest to public lawyers resulting from the law. How will the law affect criminal prosecutions for drug possession, use, and sale or DWI/DUI? What are the implications in the workplace for government employers? How do local comprehensive plans and zoning ordinances affect siting and operation of medical cannabis manufacturing and distributing facilities? How did we get here and where are we going?
After the CLE, the Public Law
Section will hold their Annual Meeting & awards luncheon. All members are welcome.
