Evolving environmental regulations under section 111(d) of the Clean Air Act greatly impact resource planning and resource adequacy in the upper Midwest region.  FERC Order No. 1000 sets a new foundation for regional transmission planning processes and cost allocation.  Marya White, Regional Director of Government and Regulatory Affairs for the Mid-Continent Independent System Operator, will address current efforts within MISO to address the new regulatory framework and what lies ahead for states, utilities and MISO itself.

Please join us for lunch beginning at Noon, followed by the program from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

Box lunch will be provided.  Special meal requests need to be received no later than Friday, October 10, 2014.

Presenter:

Marya White has served as Regional Director of Government and Regulatory Affairs at the Mid-Continent Independent System Operator or MISO since September 2012.  Prior to joining MISO, Ms. White spent from September 2010 to 2012 as the Director of the Eastern Interconnection States Planning Council, a federally-funded effort to bring together state energy officials from the 39 states (plus the District of Columbia and the City of New Orleans) in the Eastern Interconnection.  Prior to that Ms. White spent just short of twenty years at the Minnesota Department of Commerce where she led the Department's regulatory efforts in all facets of generation and resource planning.   Ms. White also has prior experience working for retail electric and natural gas utilities as well as an interstate pipeline.  Ms. White has an MBA from the University of North Dakota.
