This presentation will describe dispute process
alternatives for public dispute facilitation, and the differences and
similarities with Rule 114 mediation. One key difference between mediation
and public facilitation is the role of assessment in creating a facilitated process.
In addition, Mariann Johnson and Aimee Gourlay are consulting on the design
of the Office of Collaboration and Dispute Resolution ("OCDR") at the MN Bureau of
Mediation Services. Because the MSBA ADR Section was identified as a stakeholder
group to engage with as a part of the assessment for the OCDR, Mariann
and Aimee will do an assessment with ADR Section attendees to gather data that
will inform the focus and direction of the OCDR.
