A common method of entering new markets and selling in
other countries is through a sales agent, also known as a manufacturer’s rep, a
commission agent, and other names. Such agreements share many basic elements
with domestic sales agent agreements, but more complicating factors arise at the
border. There is more to this than meets the eye.
This CLE will address essential interests in drafting
international sales agent agreements, including avoiding FCPA jail, holding onto
your trademarks, staying out of foreign courts, and several other critical
drafting considerations that will leave your client protected and in control.
Real-life examples of suspense and intrigue
included.
