Annual Election Meeting will start at Noon,
followed by the CLE program from 12:15 - 1:15 pm.
Annual Meeting & Council Elections:
As part of
the Social Security Disability Law Section's Annual Meeting, the section will
elect new officers and council members for the 2017-2018 bar term.
Nominations are being accepted for two year council terms starting on
July 1 and ending on June 30, 2019. Persons interested in serving on the
Council should contact Geen Mui to be
added to the slate of candidates.
Presentation:
This presentation will
address topics including current national and local successes and challenges in
addressing the hearings backlog; hiring and budget challenges; productivity;
recent regulatory changes including the national uniformity (closing the record
5-day rule), medical evidence, and mental listings regulatory changes; and
recommended practice tips for a more efficient hearing process. Ample time will
be given for questions and answers for discussion.
