For manufacturers in the Midwest, Canada is a natural
market. Shawn Neylan, a partner at Stikeman Elliott LLP in Toronto, will
walk through what you need to know about Canadian competition law if your
company or client is distributing products in Canada.
Topics will include price maintenance, minimum advertised
price policies, abuse of dominance, price discrimination, exclusivity
agreements, most favored nation pricing agreements, predatory pricing and
monopsony power (legal restraints on retailer’s conduct against their
suppliers). Shawn will concentrate on helping you identify the issues that
might create problems and practical advice to deal with those
issues.
