Perhaps the most important aspect of bankruptcy for the
filer is the fresh start received when the court discharges their debts.
This course will examine how to maximize the client's discharge in bankruptcy of
debts arising out of over payment of Minnesota unemployment benefits. We
will discuss how to accomplish this in chapter 7 and chapter 13 cases. We
will discuss how to prepare an answer to the non-dischargeability
complaint. Using past cases, we will discuss how to approach settling such
complaints effectively, responding to discovery, and anticipating issues that
may arise before or during trial.
