Event Description
If you are attending
remotely, deadline to register is Wednesday, July 27.
It’s easy for a charitable
organization to maintain its tax exempt status – and it can be just as easy to
lose it. Attorneys representing nonprofits need to develop
a functional understanding of how nonprofits differ from for-profit entities.
This session will broadly examine the 6 major areas
where nonprofits get into trouble, including private benefit / private inurement;
lobbying; political campaign activity; unrelated business income; annual reporting obligations and tax exempt
purpose. Attorneys will come away with a better understanding of
the red flag issues to watch out for.
Lunch will be provided for
this CLE.
